Kim Hazelwood serves as the Director of Children’s Ministry at Community Baptist Church. Her responsibilities extend to teaching the adult Sunday school class and overseeing Rooted267, which encompasses both the morning children’s church and the evening Bible club catering to children aged three to fifth grade.
Her journey to academic achievement faced hurdles, as she was set to graduate from Liberty University in 1994. However, due to unforeseen circumstances and the loss of her parents, she persevered and completed her undergraduate degree in 2007. She recently completed her Master's degree in Higher Education from Liberty University School of Education.
With an extensive career spanning thirty years, Kim's passion for education shines through her role as the Elementary Principal at Vandalia Christian School. Additionally, she serves as the Director of VCS’s Afterschool and Summer Program. Her commitment extends beyond the classroom, as she enters her twenty-eighth year coaching the varsity cheerleading team and acting as the resident bus driver for the school's teams.
She finds immense joy in interacting with children of all ages, fulfilling roles as a mentor, tutor, guide, and advocate. Her ultimate goal is to lead and direct them towards the cross, where Jesus paid the ultimate price. This dedication is encapsulated by her favorite verse, Psalms 18:30, which declares, "As for God; His way is perfect."
